A BoCA de Masterclass

Based on her experience in “Adilson,” Cati—one of the performers in Dino D’Santiago’s first opera—addresses creativity as a practice of presence and inner listening in this masterclass.

Through joint reflection and simple exercises, this masterclass invited students to understand creativity as a way of being in the world and as a starting point for authentic artistic expression, recognizing the transformative potential of this creative gesture.

Cati, an artist who reconnects us with our human dimension, has been performing on major Portuguese stages for over 20 years with various projects and nationally renowned artists, such as Expensive Soul, Rui Veloso, Sara Tavares, Dino D`Santiago, and Cuca Roseta, in a career that also included her participation in the second edition of RTP’s Operação Triunfo program (2003). In 2013, she released her first album, entitled “Dentro,” with Tiago Costa—producer, conductor, arranger, and pianist who has produced well-known names in Brazilian popular music, such as Maria Rita, among others—bringing musical resonances from some of her favorite Brazilian composers. The second album will be released in October 2018. In “Estrangeira” (Stranger), she reveals herself as a composer of her own songs. In 2023, with the release of the singles “Flutuar” (Float) and “Vem Dizer” (Come and Say), she demonstrated her own sensitivity and depth, marking the beginning of a new creative phase, very organic in nature and the result of her journey of personal and artistic discovery over the years. September 2024 marks the release of her latest project, Lugares Incomuns, which began with unique concerts in unexpected locations, giving priority to proximity to the audience.
