BoCA is a non-profit cultural association founded in 2015 in Lisbon, with a mission centered on contemporary creation. Through a transdisciplinary approach, it promotes the hybridization of languages and the breaking down of boundaries between visual arts, performance, music and other artistic expressions.
Its work is built on synergies between cities (linking Lisbon to other national and international contexts), between cultural institutions (museums, theaters, galleries and heritage spaces) and the public space, and between different audiences. This diverse ecosystem strengthens the dialog between artists, territories and communities.
With a clear commitment to the present and future of artistic creation, BoCA encourages critical reflection on the contemporary socio-cultural context, supporting innovative creative processes and projects that challenge conventions.

The BoCA carries out its activities along five lines:
Commission and Production of Artistic Projects
Programming of the Biennial of Contemporary Arts
National and International Dissemination
Educational Program
Regular Program
