BoCA revealed in Lisbon and Madrid, on July 15 and 16, respectively, the first confirmations of the artists and projects that make up its 5th edition. In Lisbon, artists Dino D’Santiago, Patrícia Portela, João Gabriel, Niño de Elche, and Pedro G. Romero joined the conversation about their new creations, commissioned for BoCA 2025. In Madrid, the session featured artists Alberto Cortés and Elena Córdoba, who presented their projects. Several institutional partners and media outlets attended this launch.
Curated by John Romão, Camino Irreal brings together more than 25 cultural institutions from Lisbon and Madrid in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary programme, which will take place between 10 September and 26 October 2025 in the two Iberian capitals.
With a wide network of programming partners, the biennial includes institutions such as theatres, museums, cultural centres, cinemas, monuments and green spaces. In Lisbon, participants include the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, Centro Cultural de Belém, Culturgest, Teatro do Bairro Alto, CAM — Centro de Arte Moderna da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, MAAT - Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia, Panteão Nacional, Cinemateca Portuguesa, Estufa Fria, among others. In Madrid, leading institutions such as the Museo Nacional del Prado, TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Teatro de La Abadía, La Casa Encendida, Filmoteca Española, Réplika Teatro, among others, are participating.
