At the invitation of BoCA, Polska created his first play, “The Talking Car”, with an international cast, starring Albano Jerónimo, Iris Cayatte, Vera Mantero and Bartosz Bielenia. On stage, we see a group of people trying to find their way out of a speeding car. They are accompanied by a large-scale digital puppet, which sings and watches their struggles with tender curiosity. The characters in the car, on their way to an ever-changing destination, explore a variety of roles, genders and emotional states. Atmospheric, repetitive music and hypnotic animations add to the melancholy of this immersive tale: a tale about the role of someone trapped in the complex system that combines human and non-human agents, and socio-technological infrastructures.
