Every two years, BoCA invites you to an extended relationship with Resident Artists. These are artists from different generations, from different geographies, who work in multiple artistic territories and use different presentation formats, with whom we develop a long-term professional and emotional relationship.
In 2021, BoCA commissions and produces the first stage creation by film director Gus Van Sant, “Andy”, in co-production with Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, deSingel, Festival Romaeuropa, Onassis Foundation, Kampnagel, La Comédie de Reims, Le Théâtre de la Cité - CDN Toulouse Occitanie and Teatro Calderón.
Throughout 2021 and 2022, BoCA will promote the project internationally, with a Portuguese artistic, production and technical team.
With the Resident Artists, BoCA deepens relations of production and thought, getting to know and producing new creations by the artists from scratch, raising funding and partnerships for their projects, promoting the national and international circulation of their works, and establishing bridges between their artistic practices and academic contexts, through meetings and research projects.
