At the invitation of BoCA, Adriana Proganó created “Echoes of whispers, plimplim”, her first installation for natural and outdoor spaces. Through sculptures arranged in the space, the visitor is led to perceive sounds coming from unusual places, expanding listening beyond the usual.
Currently in circulation, “Echoes of whispers, plimplim” was presented at FUTURAMA - Alentejo on November 26, 2025, at Mina de S. Domingos (Mértola), as part of the festival’s Visual Arts program. In this new presentation, the work continued to expand its investigation into how sound inhabits and transforms the landscape, inviting the public to listen attentively and sensorially. Through three figurative sculptures arranged in the green space, the public is invited to perceive sounds coming from unusual places, expanding their listening dimension from the ground.
With a practice that crosses painting, sculpture and installation, and winner of the EDP Young Artists Awards 2021, Adriana Proganó builds an imaginary that reflects established norms and structures, creating characters and objects that move through different territories, proposing new forms of relationship with space.
This installation is part of the partnership cycle between BoCA and the EGEAC Municipal Galleries, which has been presenting works for the gallery’s outdoor space since the first edition of the biennial. This cycle also includes Tania Bruguera with “Narciso” (2019), and Musa Paradisíaca with “Casa-animal” (2017).
