A documentary about “Terra Cobre” by Marco da Silva Ferreira and João Pais Filipe, which had its premiere at the BoCA 2023 Biennial, at the Estufa Fria in Lisbon.
In this new choreographic and installation creation, the sensitivity and musical technique of João Pais Filipe’s live music intertwines with Marco da Silva Ferreira’s dance.
With and from the traditional rattle art of Alcáçovas - a heritage site in Urgent Need of Safeguarding, according to UNESCO - “Terra Cobre” challenges traditional Portuguese iconography and symbolism, coming from an earthly and pastoral world, but also one of ecstasy and celebration.
