Documentary about “Música Cigana Camões Yanomami / A Soma dos Seus”, a performance concert that brings together the poet and visual artist António Poppe and the roman musicians of La Família Gitana, which had its premiere at the BoCA Biennial 2021.
Between poetry and music, the project commissioned by BoCA combines the poetry of Camões and the texts of Davi Kopenawa (indigenous leader of the Yanomami community) with gypsy music. In this new creation, the images of Camões’ poetry and gypsy music are given a transcultural expression through new combinations and original sounds. The show premiered at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon and is now being performed at the Fábrica da Cerveja in Faro.
This is the 6th in a series of 10 documentaries about 10 projects that were part of the 3rd edition of the BoCA Biennial.
