What the hell is this?
Vuduvum Vadavã, alter ego of Marta Ângela (half of Von Calhau!), is a multidisciplinary artist with extensive experience in manipulating signs through sound, words, and visual artifacts. In this workshop, the artist takes participants on an inner and outer auditory journey through the vertebral flute and other channels of the body that vibrate to the pulse of the universe.
GYPSY MUSIC CAMÕES YANOMAMI / THE SUM OF ALL
Combining poetry and music, the show Música Cigana Camões Yanomami / A Soma de Todxs (Gypsy Music Camões Yanomami / The Sum of All) is a concert-performance that combines the poetry of Luís Vaz de Camões, texts by Davi Kopenawa (indigenous leader of the Yanomami community in the Amazon), with Gypsy Music. This encounter creates a communicative composition between original expressions. The conviviality of plural learning is invigorating. This is what community is all about. The composition of music and poetry, to contemplate the unique nature of the world. The firm determination to dislodge the violence of exclusion. A set of diverse elements that come together in a concert to contemplate the mixture that never ceases to reveal nature.
SCREENING OF THE MINI-DOCUMENTARY “O BARCO / THE BOAT”
This mini-documentary was produced during “O Barco / The Boat,” an installation by artist Grada Kilomba, composed of 140 blocks that trace the silhouette of the bottom of a ship and meticulously construct the space intended to accommodate the bodies of millions of Africans enslaved by European empires.
Alluding to Western imagery, the work gives rise to a performance on a boat, a symbol historically associated with glory, freedom, and maritime expansion—often narrated as “discoveries.” However, from the artist’s perspective, “a continent with millions of people cannot be discovered,” just as “one of the longest and most horrendous chapters in human history — slavery — cannot be erased.”

What does this have to do with me?
Mediation session for elementary and secondary school students on the BoCA – Biennial of Contemporary Arts program, with the participation of the collective Os Espacialistas, a laboratory project for theoretical and practical research into the connections between art and architecture. Proposing a synergy between artistic territories, cultural spaces, and diverse audiences, BoCA forges a path of blurring boundaries that embraces the diversity of identities and experiences.
