PROGRAM 07-10.03.2020
“WHOLE OCTOPUS” WORKSHOP WITH JONAS & LANDER
In “Polvo Inteiro” (Whole Octopus), a set of practices is proposed that study and develop the full potential of the performer/dancer, where voice, breathing, and facial expression are integrated into dance. The multiple influences to which we are subjected these days are welcomed and digested so that they give strength to the voice, breathing, facial expression, and the body itself. Group cohesion practices are developed, creating fertile ground for emotional and physical exploration. Dance is seen here as a musical score with multiple spaces of occupation, dynamics, and rhythms. What is gathered in the end resembles the path of an “octopus performer” aware of each tentacle, ink, shape, and color that they can acquire and/or use.
CONVERSATION “WHAT IS CONTEMPORARY ART?”
With the participation of John Romão (artistic director of BoCA), Carolina Trigueiros (programming advisor at BoCA), and Horácio Frutuoso (BoCA Artist in Residence for 2019-2020), the meeting/conversation “What is contemporary art?” with students from various local secondary schools in the municipality of Moita aims to introduce thinking about contemporary artistic practices developed within BoCA.
