For one day, Sofia Dias and Vítor Roriz will lead an intensive workshop that combines research and improvisation, bringing together body, voice, gesture and word in a fluid transit between languages. The proposal is to work on an attentive presence, capable of drawing gestures as precise as the enunciation of a word or the displacement of an object in space.
Rather than exploring translations between movement and text, this eworkshop opens up a field of listening and experimentation that avoids automatisms and promotes a direct relationship with materials and creative situations. The practice thus becomes a way of thinking in action: voice and gesture, text and movement emerge as complementary strategies of creation, resistance and dialog.
“At the Same Time” proposes a space for shared research, where each participant is invited to suspend habits, expand their perception and discover new possibilities for performative presence.
Biography
Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz have been working together since 2006, developing a unique path at the crossroads between dance, words and voice. Their work has been presented in national and international contexts, distinguished by the rigorous and playful way in which it questions the relationship between language and the body, and by the contribution it has made to the renewal of the contemporary choreographic scene.
