“Analogue Photography and Image Layering“
This workshop will explore the multidisciplinary methods used by the artist to experiment with poetic narratives, unconventional photographic processes, the construction of analog images, and the layering of colours using filters and masks both inside and outside the camera. Magdy will guide participants through his process of “cinematic stripping,” using common household materials. Together with Basim Magdy, participants will produce collaborative images that highlight these techniques. This workshop is intended for artists, photographers, filmmakers, and poets interested in visual language. Participants are encouraged to bring old slides, unused or expired film rolls, analog or Polaroid cameras, or any other tools they use and would like to explore more deeply.
