Narrated by Marina Abramovic and filmed on the volcanic islands of Bali, in Japan, in Scotland, and at the Louvre Museum, “Ferryman” is a cinematographic and choreographic exploration of the animistic roots of ritual, dance, and sculpture, and their importance today. Based on the choreographic work of Damien Jalet, between documentary and fiction, dream-like and raw, and hauntingly marked by composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, the film is a thoughtful trip along the borders between worlds.
