WATCH NOW THE MINI-DOCUMENTARY ABOUT GABRIEL CHAILE’S NEW CREATION, COMMISSIONED BY BoCA
In a commission from BoCA for the latest edition of the biennial, Argentinian Gabriel Chaile draws on the ancestral knowledge of his family, whose economy was based on baking bread, to forge a gesture of closeness, empathy, struggle and celebration towards Alcindo Monteiro. In days of reflection, debate, abundance and music, artist and audience were able to bring the life of the young Portuguese and Cape Verdean to the present – in all the tenderness and political strength of his memory. Watch the mini-documentary “What if the autobiographical isn’t more than the story of others passing through us?” now on Youtube.
This is the third in a series of eight 10-minute mini-documentaries produced by BoCA and Waves of Youth about new creations premiered or commissioned by the biennial during its last edition. Also available are films about Agnieska Polska’s first theatre piece, “The Talking Car“, and the concert-performance “The endlessly repeated risings and fallings of the desire” by Bendik Giske and Romeu Runa.
