MINI-DOCUMENTARY ABOUT TERRA COBRE, NEW CREATION BY MARCO DA SILVA FERREIRA AND JOÃO PAIS FILIPE
With and from the traditional rattle art of Alcáçovas – a heritage practice in Urgent Need of Safeguarding, according to UNESCO – “Terra Cobre” challenges traditional Portuguese iconography and symbolism, coming from an earthly and pastoral world, but also one of ecstasy and celebration. In this new choreographic and installation creation, the sensitivity and musical technique of João Pais Filipe’s live music intertwines with the dance of Marco da Silva Ferreira, whose body becomes a percussive element.
In the mini-documentary produced by BoCA with Waves of Youth, the fourth in a series of eight short films, discover a little more about the research and creation process of the two artists. The performance and installation will be in national and international circulation over the next two years. Available on BoCA’s Instagram or Youtube.
