Theatre director Mónica Calle created “Between Heaven and Earth” at the naturist beach. Watch the documentary.
“Between Heaven and Earth” is the creation of actress and director Mónica Calle for the Biennial BoCA 2021, presented at Praia da Bela Vista, in Costa de Caparica.
Between theatre and performance art, the artist reflects on identity, feminine representation and the physical and spiritual experience of pilgrimage, in an intimate tone, from personal writings and the poetry of Fiama Hasse Pais Brandão. The project commissioned by BoCA was part of a set of projects originating from a pilgrimage, from the Lisbon Cathedral to Santiago de Compostela, done by the actresses Mónica Calle, Mónica Garnel and Inês Vaz. Within the setting of the iconic naturist beach of Costa da Caparica, they invited the audience to follow a path between the dunes and the bushes to meet the three actresses and, blindfolded, to meet themselves.
This is the 4th among 10 mini-docs about 10 projects which were part of the 3rd edition of Biennial BoCA, to watch on our IGTV or in BoCA’s Youtube channel. To watch HERE.
