Portugal | Exhibition | New creation

The “Flora” exhibition by André Romão presents a series of sculptures, photography and videos made over the last few years by the artist himself, propositioning us with a free and speculative narrative on the conditions of inhabitability and survival in the world, physically as well as culturally. Being strongly anchored in poetry and both physical and performative confrontation with the pieces, Romão’s body of work has been using historical and natural references to explore the tension between the body and macro-structures, be they cultural, economic or environmental.

In his works, Romão summons literature, poetry, philosophy and history, working in multiple mediums, between them illustration, photography, video and installation.
