João Pedro Vale
João Pedro Vale (1976) holds a BFA in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon and also studied at the Maumaus School. Since 1999, he has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad. In 2002 he was nominated for the União Latina Prize, and in 2004 he won the City Desk Sculpture Award.
João Pedro Vale uses different means, from sculpture to photography, performance, and film. He produces and directs experimental full-length films with Nuno Alexandre Ferreira.
Nuno Alexandre Ferreira
Nuno Alexandre Ferreira (1973) studied Sociology at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Since 2004, he has collaborated with João Pedro Vale on sculpture, photography, exhibition, performance, and film projects. Together they have designed sets and costumes for performances by Teatro Praga, Companhia Nacional de Bailado, and John Romão. They commissioned Intendente (2014), Gente Feliz com Lágrimas (Walk & Talk 2015), and published a homonymous book. In 2014 they created the multidisciplinary project BREGAS in which they present projects by other artists.
